After weeks of testing on quite large SharePoint lists (more than 500 000 items), we are pleased to announce the official release of Enesys IS Data Extension.

Enesys IS Data Extension provides you with Data Flow components that lets you integrate and transform SharePoint data using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.

Basically, Enesys IS Data Extension provides you with two distinct data flow source components:

Enesys SharePoint Source component

Enesys SharePoint Source component will let you build sophisticated queries over your SharePoint lists data and let you integrate and transform this data (the result of your query) however you want by using additional Integration Services Data Flow components.

Enesys SharePoint Source component provides the same query features (and syntax) as Enesys RS Data Extension. That means that you have access to item versions, recurring events and so on. You can also of course rolling up items in an entire site collection (or a subset of a site collection).

It also provides the same Query Designer perfectly integrated within Business Intelligence Development Studio. Here are a few screen shots:

Enesys Synchronization SharePoint Source Component

Enesys Synchronization SharePoint Source Component is a specialized component that will let you synchronize a SharePoint list with a SQL Table.

After an initial full synchronization (on initial execution), further executions will only retrieve the changes that occurred in the SharePoint list. Therefore, even a list that contains 500 000 items will usually be updated in a matter of seconds or minutes.

Technically speaking, you can use our component to synchronize a SharePoint list with any kind of repository. There is however some work involved in parsing the data returned by our component. To make things easier we are providing a “Destination Component” that will do all the hard work to synchronize a SQL Server 2008 table (see the documentation for further details).
