As described in our Edition comparison table, the following limitations apply to the various editions of Enesys RS Data Extension:
Enesys RS Data Extension editions - number of CPU
| Edition | Max number of CPU |
|---|---|
| Group Edition | 2 |
| Standard Edition | 4 |
| Enterprise Edition | Unlimited |
If you would like to run Enesys RS Data Extension on a 4 CPU server, you will need to purchase at least a Standard Edition. On an 8 CPU machine, you will need an Enterprise Edition.
The limitation applies to the number of physical CPUs: a dual-core or quad-core cpu will count as one CPU.
Important Information for Virtual Machines
Things are somewhat different with virtual machines. If you create a multi-cpu virtual machine, there is no way for the guest OS to know if the CPU are just “core” rather than physical CPU on the host machine.
Therefore, if you have a Single quad-core CPU machine and that you create a virtual machine with 4 CPU (by allocating each core available on the host machine), you will need a Standard Edition for running Enesys RS Data Extension on this machine.
You should have this information in mind before either creating a virtual machine or purchasing a specific Edition.
